![]() Inspired by John Larmer's Blog in Edutopia, titled: Start the Year With a Project...or Wait?, our 5th grade teachers decided to... Start the Year With a Project. Using his suggestions, they introduced one of each of the 4C's through hands on collaborative activities each day. ![]() The foundation they built during the second week of school will grow as students embark on a yet to be determined service learning project. This ties into the Bluebonnet Book they are reading: Laugh with the Moon, by Shana Burg ![]() Day 1: Critical Thinking Students participated in a teacher-led discussion to increase their awareness of what critical thinking was. ![]() Day 2: Divergent Th Critical thinking, collaborating communicating Mission Difficult ( not mission possible) Worm Activity Get the life saver to the worm with a paper clip No hands only paper clip 10 minutes Roles on slide See photos Practicing group skills.. See above Didn't have to accomplish task to be successful Shared as a group how accomplished skills... "We all had a fifferent idea do we decided to try them all..."
