![]() My good friend and colleague, Debbie Smith (@dsmitheisd, http://eedsmith.weebly.com/ ) shared this video with me. It's a TED Talk by Susan Cain, titled, The Power of Introverts. It made me think....do we value our Introverts on our teams, in our classrooms, in our families and social lives? They play an important role, but sometimes need environments that may not be the norm in today's society, to feel most comfortable and be productive and creative. Here's the video...take 20 minutes to relax, reflect, and enjoy. ![]() Our Elementary Schools are blessed with Smartboards in every classroom. Teachers use them all day for many types of instruction. But..the little ones were having trouble reaching them. So...we mentioned that we needed some type of step under the Smartboards in our k,1 and 2 classrooms to Tamara Merkel, one of our faithful Booster Club Volunteers. She's a great example of what we call a DIY (Do It Yourself) expert: She can make anything and everything, from delicious sweet treats to beatiful wooden storage seats/boxes for our foyers. In a very short time, these beautiful, personally designed, steps
were delivered to each Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade classroom. Now it's easy for every student to "Step up to the board!" |
