This year, our students have brand new iPads they have been using for a couple of weeks now. We rolled out 513 new iPads in the first two weeks of school, and students have begun using them for a variety of purposes including math practice, reading and writing, and assessment completion. Students are even bringing their iPads to specials! See Art Teacher Julie Cimino's @ValleyViewArt Twitter feed to see how students are reflecting on their artwork using iPads! In addition to a new school year with new iPads, students and teachers also have access to a new app store designed especially for Eanes ISD. This district-designed app store can be accessed via the Self Service App. Teachers, Ed Techs, Instructional Partners, district personnel, and even students can make requests for apps to be added to the store. More info on how the Eanes app store was created can be found here and a list of current apps available for Elementary students can be found here. If you have an app you'd like to suggest, you can use this form. Enjoy! EISD Educational Technologists are bringing back hAPPy Friday! In these posts, we will share teaching ideas about apps currently available in our new Eanes Self Service app. This week, BPE Educational Technologist Marianna Ricketson shares a video demo and an app integration snapshot of Chatterpix Kids. This is a great app to help children practice oral communication skills. Pop on over to the Bobcat Blog to read more: http://www.bobcatblog.com/bobcat-blog/happy-friday-with-chatterpix-kids |
