October 5-9, 2012
Second and Third graders have had their iPads for about 3 days. Here are some ways they have used them for learning.

Maths Facts Practice is FUN with Draw Free!!

Picture
Creative teachers, like Mrs. Manzano, know how to make facts practice more engaging!
She put a facts practice page up on the wall.
Students used Draw Free to take picture of it using the camera background choice.
They chose their favorite color to use to write the answers.
Then they checked their answers with a key.
If the answer was incorrect, they erased the problem and reworked it after Mrs. Manzano had checked their work.

Collaborating

These 3 students are working on an Independent Study of the Solar System. They are using a Google Collaborative Doc on their iPads to create their presentation.

Learning About the Candidates

Students used Scholastic.com to read about both Presidential Candidates.

For quick and easy access to the Scholastic.com website they used a QR code.

They used Puppet Pals HD to introduce themselves as one of the candidates.

What Does a President Do?

After learning about a President's job, third graders conducted a video interview of their classmates acting as President.
